Jefferson Cowie and Labor Unions

Episode 4 of Campaign Context features Professor Jefferson Cowie (Cornell University) and a discussion on labor unions as political actors in the U.S. Professor Cowie is one of the leading stars of labor historians and the author of the acclaimed books Stayin’ Alive: The 1970s and the Last Days of the Working Class and Capital Moves: RCA’s Seventy-Year Quest for Cheap Labor. Cowie’s forthcoming book deals with the New Deal and the American welfare state and is called The Great Exception: The New Deal and the Limits of American Politics.
